Our fundraisers play an important role in our success to provide vital supports for student programs, student activities, grants and scholarships at Tomlinson. Fundraising events are carried out through the year. Listed below are some of the major events the PTA at Tomlinson sponsors.

WALKATHON

Held in October, the Walkathon is the TMS PTA's biggest fundraising and spirit raising event of the year. Students and faculty, wearing unifying Walkathon t-shirts, walk approximately 2 miles around TMS property. Students are encouraged to collect pledges in support of the Walkathon. Pledges are collected during lunch periods leading up to the Walkathon and incentive prizes are distributed to encourage participation. Volunteers are needed for pledge collection, sponsorship, incentives, logistics and communications and publicity.

BOOK FAIR

The TMS PTA conducts two book fairs during the school year. A traditional book fair, sponsored in the past by Scholastic Books and Main Street Books, is held in late October. The Barnes and Noble Book fair is held in early December. The TMS Ensemble Choir sings for a scheduled time, usually a Saturday morning, at the Barnes and Noble in Westport and TMS PTA receives a portion of sales that day when TMS PTA is mentioned at check out. TMS PTA is also given an online coupon code by Barnes and Noble that can be used on the same day, also with a portion of the sales to benefit TMS PTA.
